Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about using Racerli to discover and plan your running races across the UK.
Getting Started
Racerli is a comprehensive platform designed to help runners of all abilities discover and plan running races across the UK. Whether you're looking for fell runs, trail races, road marathons, or ultra events, Racerli brings them all together in one place.
The platform was built by a runner to make finding and tracking the right races easier.
Most race websites are either entry platforms or simple race calendars. They often focus on one type of race (like fell or road) or promote events from a specific organiser. Their main goal is to list events and take entries.
racerli is different. It’s built to help you discover races that genuinely appeal to you. Alongside the core race details, you can see ratings, reviews, photos, and insights from other runners. You can also see who from your club is watching or entering a race, and add your own notes and tags to make races more personal and easier to compare.
Instead of just listing races, racerli helps you decide which ones are right for you.
No, you can browse and search for races without creating an account. However, creating a free account unlocks additional features such as saving races to your My Races list, seeing race clashes, adding notes and tags, and tracking races you're interested in or have completed.
Yes, Racerli is completely free to use. All features are available to all users at no cost. The platform is independently built and maintained, and while optional support is appreciated to help with running costs, it's never required to access any features.
Yes, racerli is just getting started.
Our goal is to keep improving the platform based on feedback from runners and clubs. We’re already exploring ideas such as smarter race recommendations, better club insights, improved filtering and comparison tools, enhanced race tracking, and deeper community features.
We want racerli to become the place where runners don’t just find races, they plan seasons, share insight, and make better decisions about which events to enter.
If there’s something you’d love to see, we’d love to hear it.
Finding Races
Racerli features a wide variety of running races across the UK, including:
- Road races (5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon)
- Trail races
- Fell running events
- Ultra marathons
- Cross country races
- Multi-terrain events
You can filter by terrain, distance, ascent, location, entry on day, rating and date to find exactly what you're looking for.
Use the search bar on the Browse Races page to search by location, race name, or region. You can also use the Recommend filters to narrow down results by distance, rating, location and date range. The platform shows races from all across the UK, making it easy to find events near you or plan a racing trip to a new area.
The race database is regularly updated with new events and changes to existing races. Race organisers and runners can add new races or update information through the "Add Race" feature. We strive to keep all information as current and accurate as possible but would always recommend visiting the race website to confirm.
While Racerli focuses primarily on upcoming races and race discovery, many race pages include links to race event resources where you can find historical race information and results.
Managing Your Races
Once you've created a free account and signed in, you can add races by clicking the 'Add to' buttons on any race card. Saved races will appear in your "My Races" section, where you can organise them, add notes, add tags, and track your race plans throughout the year.
Yes, when you're signed in, you can add personal notes and tags to any race. This is useful for recording training plans, accommodation details, travel arrangements, or any other information you want to remember about a specific race. All of the notes and tages stay personal to you.
The My Club feature allows you to view and track races that members of your running club are watching or entered in. You can see which races your clubmates have saved, making it easier to coordinate group entries, car share and support each other at events.
Contributing to Racerli
If you know of a race that isn't listed on Racerli, you can add it using the "Add Race" page. Simply fill in the race details including name, date, location, distance, terrain type, and any other relevant information. This helps keep the platform comprehensive and up-to-date for all runners.
A race contains the core information that stays the same each year, such as the location, distance, ascent, ratings, reviews, and photos. A race edition is a specific running of that race on a particular date. For example, the same race will have separate editions for 2024, 2025, 2026 and so on.
If you notice any incorrect or outdated information, please contact us with the details. We appreciate the community's help in keeping race information accurate and current. You can also suggest updates through the Add Race form.
Race organisers are welcome to add their events using the "Add Race" feature. Make sure to include all relevant details, entry information, and a link to your official race website or entry page. This gives your event visibility to thousands of runners across the UK.
