Royton Road Runners was formed in 2003 with 27 founder members. Just 10 runners braved a snowy February night for the very first club run from Royton Cricket Club. After the Amateur Athletics Association accepted us as an affiliated club on 18th July 2003, club colours were officially worn for the first time in that year's Tour of Tameside
